  1. The Orient Express in Budapest video was taken in Budapest, Nyugati train station heading towards Paris, Budapest, Sinaia, Bucarest, Istanbul as its main line. It shows the spectator the bar, the restaurant, the beds, and the sophisticated design in the interior. It was built by The Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Builders, Smethwick England.
The Orient Express was the name of a long-distance passenger train originally operated by the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. Its route has changed many times, and several routes have in the past concurrently used the name or slight variants thereof. Although the original Orient Express was simply a normal international railway service, the name has become synonymous with intrigue and luxury travel. The two city names most intimately associated with the Orient Express are Paris and Istanbul, the original endpoints of the service.
I choose this video because it takes place in Budapest and the music is so classic and enjoyable. It adds an exotic atmosphere along with the tourists marching near the train and the other ones who are going to the next destination via the Orient Express.
I suppose that the train is heading to Venice, though it is not mentioned in the video.

  2. The topic was studying abroad in Budapest.
This is a video created by a group of American students from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who spent a semester in Budapest in 2017.
The majority of it takes place in Budapest – however, it also showcases a couple of other places, other cities in Hungary (Esztergom) and other European countries (e.g. Poland and Germany). I think this video offers a deep insight into the student life in Budapest, including transportation, food, classes, Budapest sights, trying to get by with only a few words of Hungarian, drinking on the banks of the Danube, visiting other European countries, and the friendship that could develop among a group of students who had been strangers before and were brought together by the shared experience of studying abroad.

  3. This is another video which is related to the topic about studies and education in the US. In the video we can see several young Americans who came to study in Budapest. I have chosen this video because in this one we can hear what Americans think about Hungary and why they came here and what they find attractive about studying in Europe.

  4. This video about Orient Express-Budapest was taken in Hungarian Railway Museum (definitely added this museum on my must-visit list). I chose this video because it shows detailed images of the train and its luxury. I did not expect how luxurious the service it actually offered that I just could not believe it! It is too bad that the operation was stopped in 2009.

    1. Topic: The Revolution of 1956 in American Media
This video is a segment from the contemporary American news in 1956. Demonstators in New York are trying to pressure the government into taking active part in the revolution, to help the Hungarian freedom fighters, despite the fact that America would obviously avoid open conflict with the Soviet Union. Their struggle against the American government can be paralleled to that of the Hungarian people’s; not in terms of violence and danger of course, but in how strong-willed they are against Communist oppression.
    2. We found it a good example of the revolution because it presents seldom seen images of what the reaction of the American public was like, from the American press.
    3. Not selected video: Petra’s choice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9jiN8Kaz1E&fbclid=IwAR2Wj4tYun4o3MNUTy-1EevFxIm94Xb3-9Ba1NKFwyMCfLCCCwt7v0QUtMY
A montage of contemporary footage about Budapest, mixing the realism of the footage with cinematic effects. Less informative, but emotionally evocative.

  7. We chose this video instead of the other one because it is more detailed and includes interviews. Furthermore, it has specific informations such as mentioning the Origo Film Group production company.

  8. Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship
A student in Hungary whose name is Aidana Omurova is talking about the scholarship that is offered by Hungary every year, and she discusses the way of applying for the previously mentioned scholarship, which is fully funded. This video is an excellent example of my topic because it has enough pieces of information regarding my topic and it shows how Hungary is trying to create a multicultural society of the youth, of those who seek more educational degrees.
choosing this video was based on the positive comments that it received. furthermore, some applicants are asking questions regarding this scholarship, and they are receiving some useful answers.
